Teach Like a Champion- By Doug Lemov - John Wiley & Sons (2010) - Paperback -
352 pages - ISBN 0470550473
Over the past year, I had an opportunity to participate in a book study with my peers. We sought after effective practices to correlated to the Charlotte Danielson Rubric in which we were being evaluated under. The video segments made this study entertaining and purposeful. We used the videos as a springboard to lead discussions on the delivery of instruction. I highly recommend this book for schools to use a tool for teachers to know what effective practices look like in the classroom. It enables to build a community of thinkers and accountability for everyone. Each Month, I would focus on a practice that I implemented in my classroom and write a reflection to be shared at our PLC- professional learning community. Through this study, I became aware of my self as an instructor and my style to deliver messages. I was able to grow professionally and personally from the knowledge I gained.
